The Bill passed by the House is flawed but it at least may lead to more people being covered and those with insurance receiving better coverage.

I am, however, unsure if it will pass the Senate. The Bill barely made it past the House (a two vote majority I think) and the there are expectations the whole pro-life versus pro-choice debate will derail the reform. This Bill was never meant to be about abortion but somehow it has become one of the defining issues.

Not quite double.

But maybe if we actually doubled it we could get rid of more poor people and illegal immigrants. We’re full enough as it is.

They’ve taken away all our freedom, the nasty Australian Government — they don’t give us ANY CHOICE about being covered by the public safety net. Worst of all, they let us access our own PRIVATE INSURANCE and PRIVATE HOSPITAL TREATMENT.

Worst of all, the old and the young, the sick and the poor and – get this, even unemployed at black people – are covered by the public safety net.

Yep, socialised medicine is terrible. What a better Australia it would be if, like America, we committed double our GDP to a health care system run by the free market for profit — it’s really just the price you pay for ridding the world of 100,000 people who can’t afford (and don’t deserve) insurance anyway.

I hear your prime minister is looking at taking over health care in Australia because it is so bad. That’s what you get for having socialised medicine.

I’ve always supported death panels for loony far-right wack-jobs more interested in redundant ideology and archaic notions of freedom rather than good public policy.
